Air Cargo

£7.50/kg

+ £20 handling · 10kg min · 7–14 working days

Sea cargo – general goods (£1.50/kg)

This is the rate most families use. It covers clothes, shoes, gifts, bedding, toys, books, kitchenware and everyday household items. Because the minimum is 20kg, it works best when you fill a box properly or share a shipment with relatives.

Sea cargo – boxed or fragile items (£2.50/kg)

Items that need extra care or travel in their original retail packaging, such as crockery sets, glassware and boxed goods, are charged at the higher sea rate because they take more space and handling.

Sea cargo – electricals (£3.50/kg)

Small appliances and electronics, such as microwaves, kettles, irons, speakers and laptops, ship at the electricals rate. Keep them in a separate box so your clothes and gifts stay on the cheaper general rate.

Air cargo (£7.50/kg + £20 handling)

Air cargo is the fast option, arriving in around 7–14 working days. It suits urgent items, documents, Eid or wedding gifts needed by a certain date, and smaller parcels from 10kg.

✔  Customs clearance at both ends is included, and we deliver door to door anywhere in Pakistan and Azad Kashmir.

How volumetric weight works

Cargo isn’t only about what the scale says. If a box is large but light, such as a duvet, pillows or an empty suitcase, it takes up space on the ship or plane that could hold heavier goods. So carriers charge on whichever is higher: the actual weight or the volumetric weight.

For air cargo, volumetric weight is commonly worked out as length × width × height (in cm) ÷ 6,000.

How volumetric weight is calculated for air cargo to Pakistan: length x width x height divided by 6,000

Example: a box measuring 60cm × 50cm × 50cm = 150,000 ÷ 6,000 = 25kg volumetric weight. If the box only weighs 12kg on your scale, you’d still be charged for 25kg.

How to avoid it: vacuum-pack bedding and clothes, use a box that fits your items, and fill empty gaps with soft goods.

What affects your cargo price to Pakistan

  • •  Weight: the main factor. Every kilogram counts, so weigh boxes at home first.
  • •  Service: sea is far cheaper per kg; air is faster.
  • •  Contents: general goods go at the base rate; fragile, boxed and electrical items cost more.
  • •  Size: bulky but light parcels are charged on volumetric weight.
  • •  Minimum weight: 20kg for sea and 10kg for air, so small parcels on their own cost more per kg.
  • •  Mixed boxes: putting electricals in with clothes can push the whole box onto the higher rate.

Hidden costs to watch out for

Cheap headline prices aren’t always cheap. Before you book with any courier, ask about:

  • •  Customs charges on delivery: some companies leave your family in Pakistan to pay clearance fees.
  • •  Remote-area surcharges for villages or areas outside major cities.
  • •  Flat “per box” prices that turn out to have a weight limit, with extra charges above it.
  • •  Collection fees that aren’t mentioned until booking.
  • •  Packing or re-packing fees if your box isn’t up to standard.

With us, the price we quote includes customs clearance at both ends, so there are no surprises for you or your family. Some items are restricted for export, so check GOV.UK’s guidance on prohibited and restricted goods and Pakistan’s customs rules before you pack.

7 ways to pay less per kg

  • 1.  Choose sea over air unless it’s urgent. The difference is often five times the price.
  • 2.  Use the full 20kg minimum for sea cargo.
  • 3.  Share a shipment with family or neighbours sending to the same area.
  • 4.  Pack electricals separately so the rest of your box stays on the general rate.
  • 5.  Vacuum-pack soft items to beat volumetric weight.
  • 6.  Skip cheap, heavy items like rice, soap and spices, which cost less to buy in Pakistan.
  • 7.  Plan ahead for Eid, Ramadan and weddings so you can send by sea instead of air.
